A very special summer walk in my favorite rainy mossy forest, a combination of strong woody smells intertwined with the freshness of the greens and field flowers.

Totally! I have been witnessing an exponential growth in the recognition of floral design and its acceptance as an art form. Considering the movement started a long time ago with the appearance of florists like Constance Spry that both radicalized and democratized the art of decorating with flowers, approaching it from a passion for gardening rather than floristry training, I believe contemporary designer like me, are the result of a breakthrough from the coercing of tightly massed blooms into stiff, globular arrangements, and the beginning of a new era, where flora is used as a medium for creating sculptures, paintings, performances you name it. Every floral designer that goes beyond the classical expectations and sees flowers beyond their decorational qualities, helped into developing this medium further than just a wedding decoration. I consider myself one of these designers.

Linden tree. My grandfather planted a linden tree right in front of my childhood home. Spring would mean having the scent all over the apartment, and in winter it would delight us with delicious linden flower tea.

Du lebst schon seit einigen Jahren in Berlin. Wie würdest du die Stadt olfaktorisch beschreiben?
The smell of rain always reminds me of Berlin. Coming from a very sunny country, I was confronted with a lot of rain once I moved here. I thought of it as a curse at the beginning but it became a big part of who I am now. Rain became a blessing.
